Oak Ridge Public Library offers digitization equipment for the purpose of preserving personal memories and copyright free material. Copyrighted material may not be recorded, converted, or shared using library equipment. The SLAM (Share, Learn, and Make) Space is open during library hours and is available by reservation. Walk-in appointments will be accommodated only if there are no previous, conflicting reservations.

Patrons wishing to use the SLAM space must attend a training session before their first reservation.

The SLAM Space currently offers the following workstations:

Scan Station
The Scan Station is used to make digital copies of photos, film, slides, books and other image or text-based items. This space includes an Epson V850, ScanSnap and software to digitize and edit projects.

Audio-Visual Station
The Audio-Visual Station is used to make digital copies of VHS, CD, DVDs and cassette tapes. This space includes an Ultra Studio HD mini, Behringer U-control UCA202 audio converter, A VHS and DVD player and a tape player.
